back wash یا همان پس شویی در فیلتر شنی به سادگی و از طریق برگشت جریان آب استخر صورت می گیرد. بدین صورت که با عبور بالعکس جریان از پایین به سمت بالای فیلتر شنی، مواد زائدی که در بین شن های فیلتر گیر کرده است به فاضلاب انتقال می یابد . برای پس شویی باید پمپ را خاموش کرد و شیرِ فیلتر را در حالت “back wash” قرار داد و سپس پمپ را دوباره روشن کرد. معمولا پس شویی در استخرها 2 تا 3 دقیقه به طول می انجامد. پس از پایان back wash پمپ را خاموش کرد و شیر را درحالت “close” قرار داد، سپس پمپ را 30 تا 60 ثانیه روشن کرد تا مطمئن شوید که تمام آب کثیف در پس شویی به فاضلاب رفته و وارد استخر نمی گردد. پمپ را برای آخرین بار متوقف کرده و شیر را در حالت “Filter” قرار می دهیم. حال پمپ را روشن کرده و فیلتر دوباره به تصفیه کردن آب استخر مشغول می شود. گیج فشار در ورودی و خروجی به اپراتور استخر میفهماند که مسیر عبور آب در فیلتر در حال بسته شدن میباشد. اگر گیج ، فشار خیلی بیشتری را در ورودی نسبت به خروجی نشان دهد اپراتور متوجه میشود که آشغال زیادی در بین شن ها جمع شده. این به معنی این است که هم اکنون زمان “back wash” فیلتر است. برای “back wash” اپراتور، شیرها را برای تغییر مسیر آب تنظیم میکند ، لوله برگشت به استخر را میبندد و لوله خروجی را باز میکند که آب وارد سیستم فاضلاب شود.
