در این نوع پکیج ها از دو نوع مبدل استفاده می گردد :
1 – مبدل اصلی
2 – مبدل صفحه ای
برای تأمین گرمایش از مبدل اصلی استفاده می گردد و آب سیستم گرمایش پس از عبور از این مبدل و گرم شدن به رادیاتورها منتقل می گردد .اما برای تأمین آبگرم مصرفی (بهداشتی) ، آب سیستم گرمایش توسط پمپ دستگاه از مبدل اصلی عبور کرده و سپس به جای حرکت به سمت رادیاتورها ، از مبدل صفحه ای عبور می کند و همزمان آبسرد ورودی نیز از مبدل صفحه ای می گذرد . براثر عبور این دو آب و انتقال حرارت از طریق آبگرم مدار گرمایش به آبسرد ورودی ، آبگرم مصرفی (بهداشتی) در دسترس قرار می گیرد. در این نوع سیستم ها به جهت ثابت بودن دبی عبوری و کنترل بهتر دمای سیال ، گرادیان حرارتی تحت کنترل بوده و آبگرم مصرفی (بهداشتی) به صورت مطبوع بدست می آید و ضمنا در شرایط کارکرد یکسان ، با توجه به اینکه آبگرم مصرفی با شعله مشعل (burner) تماس مستقیم ندارد ، تشکیل رسوب بر جدار داخلی مبدل صفحه ای به مراتب دیرتر از مدل تک مبدل اتفاق می افتد .
