نقش فیلتراسیون در تصفیه آب

صاف کردن یا فیلتراسیون یک روش فیزیکی برای حذف ذرات معلق در هر مایع از جمله آب است. این ذرات معلق می‌توانند گل، رنگ، مواد آلی، پلانکتون، باکتری، ذرات حاصل از سختی گیری و ….. باشند. فیلترها را به دو دسته می‌توان تقسیم نمود:

الف) فیلترهای عمقی: عمل جداشدن ذرات معلق از مایع در اعماق بستر انجام می‌شود،مثل فیلترهای ثقلی یا فیلترهای فشاری

ب) فیلترهای سطحی: عمل جدا شدن ذرات معلق از مایع فقط در عمق بسیار کم که همان سطح فیلتر می‌باشد، انجام می‌شود مثل کاغذ صافی.

انواع فیلتر

از فیلترهای عمقی در تصفیۀ آب استفاده می‌شود. آب حاوی ذرات معلق از بستر یک ماده که می‌تواند شن و یا ذغال آنتراسیت باشد،عبور نماید. در اثر عبورآب از خلل و فرج بین این ذرات، مواد معلق به دام افتاده و آب تقریبا ً عاری از مواد معلق،به دست می‌آید. جمع شدن ذرات معلق در خلل و فرج صافی، باعث افزایش افت فشار(اختلاف سطح آب روی سطح صافی و آب خروجی از صافی) می‌گردد.اگر این افت فشار از حد معینی تجاوز نماید، باید صافی را شستشو داد. در شروع کار، فیلترها را باید به آهستگی با آبی که از پایین به بالا جریان می‌یابد، پر شوند تا آنکه ذرات بستر در آب غوطه ور شوند. این کار برای خارج کردن هوای محبوس بین ذرات بستر لازم می‌باشد تا از انسداد مسیر آب توسط هوا جلوگیری شود.

انواع صافی‌های ماسه ای

در واقع استفاده از صافی شنی کند، یکی از عملیات اولیۀ تصفیۀ آب در جوامع کوچک می‌باشد که به عنوان یک استاندارد برای خالص کردن آب پذیرفته شده است.
